Below is a link to my Mind map. I have reasons why I do and do not like this note taking method. I don’t like it because it seems to be  a bit more time consuming to map out all these chapters through typing and having to hit connect and add . You have to click on certain nodes to get them in the right place. Maybe it’s just me because I’ve spent 3 years in the same computer programs for Graphic Design, I guess it’s just a bit weird making the change. I’m also just used to taking notes with pen and paper with MY handwriting. I feel like I remember the things I write down more than the things I type. I’m not that great of a typer either so I gets frustrating when I have to go back and re-type words. I DO like this method because It seems a lot more organized then having to scramble through papers remembering where I wrote notes for what chapter. It makes it easy to have access to all my notes in one place, but then again I like to have hard copies of things too :) I’m sure after a while I will get used to this though

TWC 301 Chapters 2-4

I feel like I have learned a lot from these past few chapters in Technical Communication. First of all I loved the example on WORKPLACE PROBLEMS I thought it was funny :) I never really thought about the difference between real and perceived problems. I think after a while I will get used to the difference. I actually like those chapter quizzes because it helps be remember better. Instead of just writing down notes about the chapter, the quizzes made me look up the answers and I remember where and when I found them so I can look them up in the future. I did find a couple of the questions a bit tricky though.. Using these Mind Maps is pretty helpful too. It is an easy way to store all my notes on one page. Although I can see this getting very messy quickly. It will be tough to keep up with, but building it slowly will help a lot.

Linton, adeleD#1.0, HW#6–Introduction

Hello! My name is Adele Linton. This is my first online class ever. It seems to be fun so far I really enjoyed making the introduction video :) I am two classes away from my associates in Graphic Design at SCC so I am starting my Graphic Information Technology for a bachelor’s degree at the same time! I come from an artistic background-painting and drawing and such- but I can’t make money to survive so I transfered to the computer :) I also love photography I just got a spiffy new SLR digital camera so I’m still experimenting. I signed up a bit late for this semester and I didn’t want to fill up on all tech classes my first semester here so, I’m starting with a GE class first to test the waters and this class seemed very interesting!
